Burt Lancaster stars as Owen Daybright, a hard-working ranch-hand raised like a son by rancher Arch Stroble (Ray Collins). Stroble's real son, Lee (Robert Walker) can't stand Owen, even though he has always been there to get him out of trouble. It finally comes to a head when Lee fathers an illigetimate child and frames Owen. Now the mother's brothers have come seeking vengeance!
